Last year I shared my passion for reading in this blog and suggested to offer books for Christmas (check the blogpost here). I got such a nice feedback, I have decided to a similar post this year and share some books I have discovered this year or fell in love in the past. Also if you have some nice suggestions, I would love to get some new books ideas!

And the Mountain Echoed
-Khaled Hosseini-

This is my #1 discovery from 2015.
I heard a lot about the author but never read anything from him. This book was my first, and will certainly not be my last... The story is captivating and really touching. I highly recommend this one.

The Picture of Dorian Grey
-Oscar Wilde-

I want to include in this list one of my all-time favorite book. The story of Dorian Grey is common and sometimes used in movies but few have read the original story. I will never get tired of this philosophical fiction about hedonism, beauty, vanity and sins.

A Song of Ice and Fire
-Georges R. R. Martin-

Do you know a big fan of Game of Thrones or simply fantasy worlds and dragons? The first book of the series, A Game of Thrones, was published in 1996! There are five books now and two more are coming out soon. And I can guarantee the books are as captivating as the TV show!

The Street Lawyer
-John Grisham-

A homeless man calling himself "Mister" enters the offices of the Washington DC law firm Drake & Sweeney and takes many of the lawyers hostage. Although he is eventually shot by a police sniper and the hostages freed, one of the hostages, an antitrust lawyer named Michael Brock, is concerned by what he has learned and feels compelled to investigate further...
Have you ever wondered what happens to homeless people? Their stories, their fights? My father recommended me this book and it's my turn to recommend it now. A great legal thriller.

The Ladies' Paradise
-Emile Zola-

This is the best book you can offer to a fashionista! A beautiful classic novel and love story that will take you back in time during the birth of department stores in Paris (inspired by Le Bon Marché).
