"A book is a gift you can open again and again"
Struggling to find the perfect gift? How about a book? A nice book is like a trip to another world. Sometimes they can be life changing, and often they bring a whole bunch of emotions and feelings. Widen someone's horizon this year and offer a book for Christmas ;)
Inferno (Dan Brown)
The movie was released this year, so you have probably heard of the story. As a bookaholic, I will recommend the book over the movie because Dan Brown is a great author. You get caught so easily in the story that it's almost impossible to put the book down. Ethic, history, literature and adrenaline are the core of this brillant novel. Brillant.
The Happiness Project (Gretchen Rubin)
I read this book during my retreat in Sri Lanka. Are you happy? And what is happiness anyway? Those are the main questions that guide this book. The author starts her quest of happiness, trying to find this concept but also, find the meaning behind it. This is an excellent pick for that friends or relatives who has it all, but still lack a feeling of gratefulness or purpose in their life.
The Man Who Risked it All (Laurent Gounelle)
This book is originally written in French (Les Dieux Voyagent Toujours Incognito) so I don't know how good is the translation. But the story itself is life changing. I think everyone should read this book. I have offered it to so many friends because it is one of those books that opens your eyes on life and happiness.
A great choice for you, your best friend or your favorite person :)
Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling)
Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy)
If you are looking for a gift for someone who is a hopeless romantic, a Russian literature book would be your best pick. No one does romanticism like the Russians, especially Tolstoy. Anna Karenina's story is heartbreaking and transport you to the late 19th-century Russian high society. A cult-classic!
